Founded in 2007, Sacred Heart College Apapa is an academic institution that has given life to the dreams of both the Sacred Heart Parish, Apapa and the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos. The gaint step to establish a missionary education within the environs of Apapa was taken by the then Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew O. Sullivan, SMA, whose desire to restore the deplorable state of education system in Nigeria to a qualitative level took the initiative of not only establshing a credible and academically sound institution but also a college where morality is given utmost priority. The establishment of this College is indeed a dream-come-true.
Through the direction of the Holy Spirit, a suitable location was found in the heart of G.R.A, Apapa at 12 Child Avenue, formerly Nigerian Ports Authority Property. It was finally acquired by the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos under the leadership of the now Archbishop Emeritus, His Grace, Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie in March, 2007.
On the 24th of September, 2007, Sacred Heart College Apapa formally commenced her first term classes with only fourteen students and six teachers.
Since inception, the school has been managed by one of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus (EHJ) in the person of Rev. Sr. Fidelia Mary Alao, a seasoned academician and trained counsellor with over 30 years of qualitative education based exposure.
With the rapid development of the acquired College property, more parents took interest and subsequently brought their children/wards to Sacred Heart College for sound academic tutoring. Hence, we were able to graduate our first set of students in July, 2012, thereby marking our pioneer Alumni product with seventeen outstanding viabrant graduates.
